Job Overview:

Vice President, Data Science and Analytics

The Vice President of Data Science and Analytics will lead the organizations marketing-focused data strategy, integrating advanced analytics and data science into marketing decision-making and operations. This role will spearhead efforts to optimize marketing performance, customer experience, and ROI by leveraging data-driven insights.

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), the VP will partner with marketing and business leaders to shape strategies, improve campaign effectiveness, and identify growth opportunities through the power of data science and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute a marketing-centric data and analytics strategy to drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
    • Collaborate with the CMO and marketing leadership to identify data-driven opportunities for improving campaign performance and customer engagement.
    • Build a comprehensive framework for measuring marketing ROI and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists, marketing analysts, and business intelligence professionals.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the team.
    • Promote innovation and continuous learning to stay ahead of marketing analytics trends and technologies.
  • Marketing Analytics & Insights
    • Develop and deploy predictive models to improve marketing segmentation, personalization, and targeting.
    • Analyze customer behavior, journey, and sentiment to provide actionable insights for marketing and customer experience teams.
    • Oversee the development of dashboards and reporting frameworks to visualize key marketing metrics.
  • Customer Data Strategy
    • Build and manage scalable data platforms and governance practices to support customer data collection, integration, and analysis.
    • Partner with marketing teams to optimize the use of first-party, second-party, and third-party data in campaigns.
    • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and data security standards.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, product, operations) to align data initiatives with overall business goals.
    • Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable strategies for the marketing team and senior leadership.
    • Advocate for a data-first culture across marketing and related departments.
Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $206,400 - $340,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Marketing Analytics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related disciplines, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience in marketing analytics, customer segmentation, and data-driven campaign optimization.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong understanding of machine learning, predictive modeling, and AI-driven marketing solutions.
  • Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs), marketing automation systems, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams while driving measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong business acumen with expertise in translating technical insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills for communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in CPG
  • Background in leading marketing-focused data initiatives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, attribution modeling, and digital media optimization.
