Job Description

One of our members, a chemical company specializing in surfactant-based solutions and custom batch formulations, serving world-leading consumer brands and industrial enterprise, is looking for a Director of Human Resources .

This role calls for a true player-coach, someone who embodies both strategic vision and hands-on execution. A proactive leader ready to make a significant, hands-on impact at every organizational level will excel in this position.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Strategy Set Up / HR Operations

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company’s overall objectives and business strategy and opportunities, turning them into catalysts for growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with global and local executive and senior management to identify and engage directly in identifying HR challenges.
  • Manage daily HR operations at company across borders, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and talent development.

Compliance and Employee Relations

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations across all regions of operation, and manage labor unions across borders.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that promote fairness, equity, and diversity within the organization.
  • Lead organizational changes, including establishing HR structures from scratch, efficiently managing mergers, acquisitions and restructuring, with a focus on operational priorities.

Employee Engagement and Talent Development

  • Drive employee engagement and retention efforts through effective communication, recognition programs, and employee feedback mechanisms.
  • Partner with department heads to assess and address workforce needs and develop strategies for talent acquisition and retention.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and coaching to leadership, managers, and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, career development, and conflict resolution.
  • Lead and facilitate training and development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of employees at all levels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with labor unions, ensuring open communication to support a positive and collaborative working environment.

Change Management / C&B Operations

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage change management processes throughout the company for alignment with the company's direction.

QUALIFICATION

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.

Professional Experiences & Skills

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience working in the chemical manufacturing industry or a related field is preferred but not a must.
  • Demonstrated experience as an HR generalist, showcasing a deep understanding of various HR domain
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of cultural awareness and sensitivity based on open mindedness, with the skill to adapt communication styles to fit a variety of cultural contexts and global business environments.
  • Experience working with a global company with complex reporting structures – familiarity with Asian cultures is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future HR needs and proactively develop solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% both domestically and internationally.
